Strange sleeps and dreams of the spindlefingered ones.  They come and they study us, you know.  That tapping you hear is them checking inside your ears for the twitching of your brain and your leg, and you do your best to help them with your silly lolloping longways.  All those numbers.

And I haven’t seen the moon for days and I do not know if that is because the moon isn’t there or because I’m not there.  If you are one of the ones that come and tap, do please whisper into my ear about the ways of the moon and where I can find it.  It is a thing that anchors and settles.
